| 50th Anniversary Lucy Reunion Re-Creates "Lucy's First Sitcom" On July 12, 1998, at Loving Lucy '98, the Third Annual Convention of Lucy Fans, veterans of the "I Love Lucy" show came together to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Lucy's sitcom debut, and to raise money for vital pediatric AIDS research. Reunited for the first time on a single stage were such familiar "I Love Lucy" characters as "Carolyn Appleby" (Doris Singleton), "Marion Strong" (Shirley Mitchell),"Teensy & Weensy" (the Borden Twins),"Peggy Dawson" (Janet Waldo), the "Parisian Tout" (Larry Dobkin) and many more, re-creating two complete episodes of Lucy's very first sitcom, "My Favorite Husband." Special guest stars Dwayne Hickman ("The Many Lives of Dobie Gillis") and Tony Dow ("Leave it to Beaver") joined the "I Love Lucy" veterans, actress-impersonator Suzanne LaRusch (as Lucille Ball), and Lucy's original announcer, Bob LeMond, as the convention-goers were transported magically back 50 years for a live broadcast of Lucy's radio show from CBS Columbia Square in Hollywood. Check out the Limited Edition Commemorative Poster and our first installment ofcast profiles and photos, and come back for more details, audio clips (and lots more photos) in coming weeks. | |||||||
