| Who Loves Lucy More: Laura or Rosie? Laura Dern is a true I Love Lucy fan. She's seen every episode. Many times. But is she a match for super-Lucy-fan Rosie O'Donnell? To find out, Laura challenged Rosie to a game of "I Love Lucy More" on a recent Rosie O'Donnell Show. Laura showed up in an exact replica of Lucy's famous "Vitameatavegamin" dress. But this didn't faze Rosie, who soon had Laura drooling over the grand prize - a prototype of Mattell's I Love Lucy Doll ("Lucy in the Candy Factory"). Rooting for Rosie were the side sections of the studio audience -- a Rosie win would earn each of them a copy of I Love Lucy: Behind the Scenes(see next story). Laura played for the center section, who would win the "I Love Lucy Trivia Game" if she emerged victorious. The contest was neck and neck at the end of the first round (in which Rosie and Laura raced to identify I Love Lucy video clips), and it stayed that way through most of the 30-second "Lightning Round." But on the very last question ("What happened to Lucy after she met William Holden?"), Rosie's quick answer won her the "Lucy" crown. In a magnanimous gesture, Rosie gave Laura her prototype I Love Lucy doll. "The producers made me do it," Rosie sadly explained. | |||||||

Lucy just keeps on winning. I Love Lucy: Behind the Scenes is this year's "Pop Culture Audio" award winner in the "Listen Up Awards," presented by Publishers Weekly. Written by series creator-producer-head writer Jess Oppenheimer (with his son, Gregg), this award-winning audio production (three hours on two audio cassettes) features vintage radio and TV performances by Lucille Ball and the entire cast, and is narrated by I Love Lucy veteran Larry Dobkin.
