Theatre Works production of My Favorite Husband - The Sitcom That Inspired I Love Lucy, is best known to classic TV comedy fans as "Norma Arnold", the mom of Arnold clan on the hit sitcom The Wonder Years. Alley spent her childhood in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York, where she began acting in the fifth grade at Miss Spence's School for Girls in Manhattan (She played the lion in "A Midsummer Night's Dream"). She made her TV debut on The Patti Page Show and her professional stage debut at the Williamstown Theatre Festival in Massachusetts. Alley graduated magna cum laude from Yale University in 1973 with a B.A. in Drama and Art History. She then furthered her education in England and received an M.A. from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. In addition to The Wonder Years, Alley has appeared as a regular on the TV series The Associates (with Martin Short), Hill Street Blues (as "Tracy Renko"), and Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman (with her husband, actor Orson Bean).
