"I love Lucy. I'm obsessed with Lucy -- my entire life -- my favorite human being," Laura revealed to super-Lucy-fan Rosie O'Donnell on a recent edition of the Rosie O'Donnell Show. And she certainly had the wardrobe to prove it -- she arrived on Rosie's set wearing an exact copy of Lucy's famous "Vitameatavegamin" dress from "Lucy Does a TV Commercial " (Episode #30 of I Love Lucy). Laura even challenged Rosie to an I Love Lucy trivia contest. Born in Los Angeles, the willowy, five-foot-ten-inch blonde, daughter of actors Diane Ladd and Bruce Dern got her start in the business with bit parts in her parents' movies. After significant roles in such films as Teachers and Mask, she starred in Smooth Talk, as well as two David Lynch films, Wild at Heart and Blue Velvet. Laura received an Best Actress Oscar nomination for her starring role in Rambling Rose, which also earned her mother a Best Supporting Actress nomination (the first time a mother and daughter had both been nominated).
